Spike is an enemy in the Yoshi series debuting in Yoshi's Story. It's a sentient creature with a sharp cone-like protrusion on their head.

Yoshi's Story
Spike only appears in Yoshi's Story. They are only found in the levels Bone Dragon Pit and Magma Castle. In gameplay, they exhibit two different behaviors.
They jump around back and forth within the area it's in or they simply jump straight up while making tiny sounds. As they do, Yoshi and his species will take damage if they touch it. They cannot be defeated.
