They also appear in the last battle, where [[Yoshi]] or [[Yoshi (species)|his allies]] has to grab them to throw them at [[Baby Bowser's Pet]]. Bob-ombs often vary in intelligence and appearance.

Bob-ombs have always resembled bombs with a few differences. The main difference is that they have white eyes, feet, and occasionally arms (especially in their earlier appearances). They are usually black, but they can also be seen in red, blue, or even green. In most games, they feature wind-up keys on their backs and fuses, though this might not be the case in a few old games. The fuse is usually surrounded by a gray or blue ring. Interestingly, in ''Super Mario Bros. 2'' and during the ''Paper Mario'' ending parade, Bob-ombs are shown to have arms. In some games Bob-ombs are seen to have yellowy-orange feet and legs but others in ''Super Mario Sunshine'' have feet resembling that of a windup toy.
