Featured article Shy Guys, alternatively formatted as Shy-Guys, are a recurring enemy in the Yoshi franchise and its parent Mario franchise. They are recognizable by their masks, which they wear due to their shyness. Shy Guys appear in many colors, but are usually colored red. In the Yoshi franchise, Shy Guys make their debut in Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island. Their first overall appearance is in Yume Kōjō: Doki Doki Panic, later released as Super Mario Bros. 2 overseas and thereby inducting them into the Mario franchise.
