Swooper
Swoopers (also called Swoops for short) are vampire bats with red noses found in various games in the Yoshi series. Swoopers are usually blue but in their debut, they were actually green. Swoopers may be related to Fangs, another bat species from the Yoshi series.
Super Mario series
Super Mario World
Swoopers first appeared in Super Mario World where they would swoop down on Mario and Yoshi from the cave ceilings. Any attack can defeat them. Swoopers can also be stomped to to reach higher platforms.
New Super Mario Bros. Wii
Swoopers also appear in New Super Mario Bros. Wii where they attack by swooping from the ceiling and trying to dart into our heores, once again any attack can beat them. In darker caves, their eyes tend to glow giving you a bit of a hint as to where they are.
